Prana is a Sanskrit word and translated it means life-force. Hence, Pranic Healing is an alternative therapy that uses the life force to heal the aura or energy body. An intensely tested and well-developed system, Pranic Healing is an energy treatment that ‘engages’ the ‘prana’ to synchronize, complement, balance, and renew the processes of the energy body. Practitioners of this form of healing say that a ‘healthy aura’ ensures the acceleration of the healing of an ailing physical body, and gives it health and longevity.
Simple yet powerful and effective, Pranic Healing is a form of energy healing without physically touching the ‘patient’. The tenets of this form of healing state that while the body is a self-healing being, the process of Pranic Healing hastens the healing by elevating vital energy levels to the ‘disease inflicted’ parts of the body. As mentioned, Pranic Healing is applied to the aura or energy body (bio-electromagnetic field) of an individual, since it is here that ailment symptoms and energy disturbances first manifest themselves, before affecting the actual physical body.
Many schools of thought have been imparting their healing teachings and techniques for millennia but in the last decade or two. Alternative therapies have risen to prominence as people all over the world have begun to value alternative therapies. These therapies are not a replacement for Ayurvedic or Allopathic treatment but are frequently used in conjunction with each other.
It was in the year 2010 when Pranic Healing in Kolkata’s Technopolis Building had advertised a vacancy for healers as part of their social endeavor which caught my eyes. I never heard of Pranic Healing before that but was introduced to Reiki much prior. Whatever little I heard and understood about Pranic Healing then, piqued my interest. Later, I was finally selected from of the pool numerous applicants for the role of Healer, under the able and guided leadership of Acharya Hector. Deep training was imparted by Ms. Anita Saraf and Mr. Sailesh Saraf, under whom I worked for a year almost. I was sure that I wanted to follow this path, even though healing services were not conducted professionally thereafter. Only family members and a select few who came from close references, received the benefits of the ‘healing’.
